Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Writing Academy, an online writing program for primary school students preparing for Scholarship and Selective entry exams. By purchasing or using a course package, a parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on behalf of themselves and their child.
1. Course packages and payment
Writing Academy sells single-purchase course packages — there is no subscription and no recurring billing. Each package unlocks a fixed 10-week program of tasks. Prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD) and payment is processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
2. Refunds
Course packages are a one-time payment and are non-refundable. If your situation is exceptional, contact us at support@WritingAcademy.com.au.
3. Program schedule and grace period
Each course package runs for 10 weeks from your chosen start date. If some tasks are missed, a grace period (shown in your course details) is provided to catch up. After the grace period ends, the course is marked "Ended" and can no longer accept new submissions, though past results remain visible.
4. Acceptable use
Writing Academy is designed for children aged 7–12. Students must not submit content that is unsafe, abusive, or unrelated to the set writing task. Our AI safety systems automatically screen submissions and may block or flag content that breaches this rule.
5. Intellectual property
Your child retains ownership of the writing they submit. Writing Academy retains ownership of all course content, including practice questions, reading passages, writing prompts and model essays.
6. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
